Department of Endoscopy of Zhejiang Cancer Hospital and Digestive System Research Unit of Navarrabiomed Biomedical Research Center today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly promote collaboration in talent training and scientific research in endoscopy. 

Chairman of ZJCH Prof. CHENG Xiangdong extended a warm welcome to the representative of Navarrabiomed Prof. Eduardo Albeniz Arbizu, head of the research unit. He stated that ZJCH has always been open for opportunities to collaborate with international medical institutions. This cooperation focusing on endoscopic talent training will be the touchstone for further collaboration between the two sides. 

Prof. Arbizu briefly introduced Navarrabiomed in the ceremony. Navarrabiomed is a young public biomedical research center. The endoscopic procedures routinely performed in ZJCH, such as Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM), are uncommon and still technically immature in Spain. He hopes that through this cooperation, ZJCH will be able to assist endoscopic physicians in improving the techniques of digestive endoscopy and further expand the academic influence of ZJCH in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy to other public hospitals in Spain through the Spanish Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (SEED).

To deliver the advanced treatment of endoscopy, the two sides will actively work together to bridge Chinese and Spanish endoscopic physicians and achieve win-win outcomes.

After the signing ceremony, Prof. Arbizu had a tour in the ZJCH Endoscopy Center and observed ESD performed by Prof. WANG Shi, Director of Endoscopy Dept.
