The department of pharmacy was established in October 1963, now comprising of outpatient pharmacy, inpatient pharmacy, Chinese medicine pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, pharmacy intravenous admixture service (PIVAS), Chinese and western medicine storehouse, laboratory of clinical pharmacy, and office of hospital pharmacy management and therapeutics committee. It takes charge of hospital pharmaceutical administration and service, including procurement, supply and quality control of medicines and chemical reagents, drug dispensing, and supervision on rational clinical medication. The department is a co-cultivation base for professional masters from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Zhejiang University. It also undertakes training and teaching works for pharmacy undergraduates and interns from Zhejiang University of Technology, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, Zhejiang University City College, Hangzhou Medical College, and Jinhua Polytechnic. At present, there are 65 professional staffs in the department, including 12 professors or associate professors of pharmacy, 32 pharmacists-in-charge and 21 pharmacists. The talent team is comprised of 3 PhDs, 26 masters and 38 undergraduates, with one second-level cultivation of hospital “1022” talent program and one cultivation of hospital “30s” talent program.
The department of pharmacy (clinical oncology pharmacy) is an innovative medical subject of Zhejiang Province. In recent years, it has carried out innovative pharmacy service both in clinic and translational research. During clinical practice, we actively participate in case discussion and consultation. Through prescription comment, drug assessment and utilization research, we supervise clinical medication; through therapeutic drug monitoring, we design individual dosage regimen; through publicity of rational drug use in medicine information website and micro media, we provide medical consultation service for patients; through collection, analysis, feedback and report of information on drug safety, we monitor adverse drug reactions. To solve practical problems, we also devote to selection of individualized chemotherapy scheme, research on molecular mechanism of antitumor drugs, design of antitumor drug combination scheme and intervention of its rational use, development of innovative drug and comprehensive combination research of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. Since 2015, our team has hosted 84 projects of bureau-level or higher, including 6 research projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 25 research projects of provincial-level, and 53 research projects of bureau-level. The research funding has reached more than 9 million. Our team has been awarded the second- and third-prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award, the first-, second- and third-prize of Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Award. We have been authorized 9 national invention patents and 6 software copyright certificates. Additionally, we have published more than 93 academic papers in core domestic and abroad journals, including 35 SCI papers and 26 papers of Chinese Medical Association serial journal or first-level journal. We have also published 13 books, of which 3 books as editor, and 5 books as deputy editor.
