Intensive Care Unit (ICU）was established in 2000. Our unit has 24 beds with specialty-trained intensivists and critical care nurses. Our mission is to provide patients with the highest level of clinical care to alleviate their suffering and improve their quality of life.
The department owns a set of advanced diagnostic and monitoring equipments and techniques to provide standardized and high-quality life support for critically ill patients, including a PHILPS central monitoring system, a portable ultrasound machine, a defibrillator, ventilators, temperature controllers, blood gas analyzers, fiber bronchoscopes, imported electric beds, negative pressure wards and the CRRT, BIS, PiCCO, Vegileo and so on. Using these advanced equipments and techniques, we can carry out many interventions, such as mechanical ventilation and airway management, percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy, bedside bronchoscopy, bedside ultrasonography, blood purification and hemodynamics monitoring. More importantly, patients can get qualitative, quantitative, and dynamic observations, and sequentially receive timely and effective treatment, thus bringing about a good prognosis.
Our department has a professional, enthusiastic team with excellent specialists. We accumulate much experience in the treatment of cancer patients with critically ill or after major surgery, including acute respiratory failure, heart failure, sepsis, shock, complications of chemoradiotherapy and surgery, severe arrhythmia, acute kidney failure and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, severe electrolyte imbalance, etc. On the other hand, we actively participate in the MDT with other clinical departments and provide technical support to help the patients get through the cancer treatment period safely. Our department is not only the backbone of the hospital, but also takes responsibility for the emergency work of the entire hospital. All in all, the needs of patients are paramount, and we have been making unremitting efforts for it.
